The Piano Lesson concerns the struggle of two siblings over a precious family heirloom, a piano carved with images of their African ancestors and crafted by their enslaved grandfather. The Great Depression serves as the historical backdrop to the play as well as Black migration during this period from south to north.

Nashville Public Television w/Kenny Dozier

After earning a degree in chemical engineering, starting a family, and building a career in corporate management, Kenny Dozier made an unexpected discovery. His true calling was in theater. Help Support Our
2023-2024 Season

We are embarking on an adventure we are excited about... our upcoming productions and activities. We provide a platform that's dedicated to underserved communities and has the power to make an impact. We have a full season of plays coming plus our highly anticipated "Kidz Kravings Youth Acting Camp". We have positioned ourselves to be the only professional black theater company producing mainstream plays in Nashville, TN.

Let's work together to make a difference in the communities that need it most. Your donation is what makes all of this happen. We need funding for our staff, actors, crew and productions. We produce plays that celebrate the journey of African Americans. Creating opportunities for them to share their gifts. Celebrating triumphs and struggles and how blacks overcome them.

Friendly Support

Your donations will help us produce quality plays  and programs that will impact the community.
